About the UPSL
Founded in 2011, the United Premier Soccer League now stands as the largest and most competitive pro-development league in North America. The league was started in Santa Ana, California by Leonel Lopez, with 10 teams. Today the league has nearly 400 clubs competing nationwide, and the Premier Division for Spring 2022 has 255 clubs competing for 32 places in the National Playoff Bracket to become National Champion.
The league occupies the 4th tier of the US Soccer pyramid, just below the three professional tiers in the pyramid. With a participant average age of 22.5 years, the UPSL fills and brings structure to the large gap that exists between the youth game and the professional game, serving thousands of aspiring players and coaches as they strive to further their aspirations and fuel their passions.

Florida Premier FC SWFL Joins the UPSL, Strengthening the Local Soccer Community
Lakewood Ranch, FL – June 2024 –
Florida Premier FC SWFL is excited to announce its official membership into the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), a significant step forward for the local soccer community. With this affiliation, Florida Premier FC SWFL aims to provide young, talented athletes with a platform to showcase their skills and further develop their passion for the sport.
To begin this new chapter, Florida Premier FC SWFL will be conducting tryouts for players born between 2008 and older. The tryouts will take place on August 3rd and August 4th, beginning at 9:00 a.m at the Lakewood Ranch Park located at 5490 Lakewood Ranch Blvd, Lakewood Ranch, FL (behind LWR High School).
By joining the UPSL, Florida Premier FC SWFL plans to kick off an exciting season in September. The league offers a competitive environment that will push the boundaries and elevate the skill level of players within the organization.
